In the
early fall of 2008, a group of people gathered together with
a vision of creating a spiritual community. This group
became known as the Vision Tenders and the Community Church
of Inner Divinity was given birth. Since then, the core
group of members has increased to twenty six and the Church
Celebrated it’s official Opening at a Dedication Ceremony on
November 9th.
Reverend
Lynne Burrows was named the Senior Minister and, in a
collaborative effort with all members, a Board of Directors
was chosen, committees formed and work began to define our
mission and creed. First and foremost we wanted to
emphasize “community” and our belief that all become
stronger in community. The phrase “Where two or more are
gathered….” spoke to our desire to gather together with a
focus of inviting the presence of God/Spirit.
The
Mission of the Community Church of Inner Divinity is to
create community in support of spiritual freedom. We
recognize that everyone has the ability to connect directly
with the God of their heart and their understanding, that no
one need an intermediary for this relationship and that,
together, we support each other in this exploration.
The Creed
of our Church is:
1. We recognize the divinity in all living
beings.
2. We validate and support spiritual growth in
ourselves and others.
3. We foster an understanding and acceptance of
all faith traditions.
4. We commit to participating in our world as
good citizens of our local community and the global village.
5. We support spiritual freedom and new
paradigms to foster love, light and harmony in the universe.
Our church
community is growing steadily, we welcome the presence of
children, and we have no specific dogma or belief system
that must be adhered to. We are a new church for the 21st
century and would be pleased to welcome you to our services
and activities. |
